In 1787, Thomas Lord chose Dorset Square to lay down a cricket ground which, in 1814, moved a mile north to what is now known as Lords Cricket Ground. Dorset Square Hotel is one of the regency buildings surrounding the tree-filled gardens that would have had a grandstand view of the game in those days. Everything about the hotel is individual.
